Announcing the Lorenzo Henry Goganious Jr. Memorial Scholarship

We are proud to announce the Lorenzo Henry Goganious Jr. Memorial Scholarship, established in 2026 to support local students pursuing education and careers aligned with leadership, service, and entrepreneurship.

Honoring a Lasting Legacy

The scholarship honors the life and legacy of Lorenzo Henry Goganious Jr., a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, an alumnus of Norfolk State University, and the founder of Realty Specialists in 1981.

Mr. Goganious built Realty Specialists on principles of integrity, hard work, and service, creating one of Hampton Roads’ oldest minority-owned, full-service real estate and property management firms. His belief in education as a pathway to opportunity continues to guide our work today.

Scholarship Purpose & Focus

The Lorenzo Henry Goganious Jr. Memorial Scholarship is an annual $500* award presented to a graduating senior from Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, VA. It supports students who plan to enroll in a college or trade school and pursue careers in real estate, business, or accounting.

Beyond academics, the scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate leadership, community involvement, and a commitment to making a positive impact.

Supporting the Next Generation

This scholarship reflects Realty Specialists’ ongoing commitment to investing in future leaders and strengthening the communities we serve. By supporting students at a critical point in their educational journey, we hope to honor Mr. Goganious’s legacy while encouraging ownership, entrepreneurship, and service for generations to come.

The scholarship is administered by Realty Specialists and the Goganious Family in partnership with Booker T. Washington High School. The scholarship recipient will be announced in April and formally recognized later this spring.
